Q: What is your current role?
A: Project Engineer
Q: What made you want to pursue this path?
| A: “I was inspired to pursue a career in construction because I enjoy seeing the tangible results of hard work and being part of projects that have a lasting impact. I like working in a team environment, solving problems in the field, and contributing to the successful completion of complex structures. Over time, I developed a strong interest in steel erection and construction operations, and that passion motivated me to continue growing my skills and experience in the industry. Construction gives me the opportunity to learn something new every day while helping build projects that benefit communities.” |
Q: What is the most exciting or rewarding project you’ve worked on in your current role?
A:”In one particular project, I was involved in coordinating steel erection, precast installation, deliveries, quality control, and daily crew activities. What makes this project especially rewarding is seeing the structure progress from the foundation stage to multiple completed levels while working with different trades to keep the project moving safely and on schedule. I enjoy solving field challenges, supporting the crews, and ensuring quality work is completed every day. Watching the facility take shape and knowing that my efforts contribute to a major project gives me a strong sense of accomplishment and pride in my work.”
Q: What advice would you give to someone entering this field?
A: “My advice to someone entering the construction field would be to come in with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety. Construction offers many opportunities to grow, but success comes from being reliable, showing up prepared, asking questions, and learning from experienced workers. Pay attention to the details, take pride in your work, and be open to learning new skills every day. If you stay focused, work safely, and maintain a positive attitude, you can build a successful and rewarding career in this industry.”
